Behavior Expectations

PROPER BEHAVIOR is expected in Physical Education class.  This includes a positive attitude, acceptable behavior, good sportsmanship, and effort. 

 

Grading Policy  

·        80% - Preparation, participation, effort, and behavior

Ø      Students can earn a possible 4 points a day.

Ø      Points are deducted if a student is unprepared, lacking in effort, or having behavioral issues.

Ø      Students will lose no points for the first two absences of the marking period, however each absence after that will be a loss of 4 points.

Ø      Students may earn their points back by making up missed classes after school within 1 week of the absence. 

·        10% - Written tests

·        10% - Skill tests

 

Dress Requirement

·        CREW-NECK T-SHIRTS, ANY COLOR   Sleeveless shirts are acceptable but no tank tops.

·       ATHLETIC SHORTS – shorts may not have zippers or buttons...NO Cut-off jeans or boxers.  Shorts should be finger-tip length.

·        SWEATS – if worn, they may not be torn or ripped

·        SNEAKERS – must be tied, with good treads; no backless or platform sneakers. Sneakers MUST be secured to the feet. Students without proper shoes or shoes secured safely to their feet will not be allowed to participate, and will lose points.

 

YOU MUST BE PREPARED FOR EACH CLASS!

If you are not prepared, you will still be expected to participate.

 

Students will receive a detention on their second unprepared and for each unprepared after that during the marking period.

 

Lock and Locker Room Information

·        You will receive a lock and a locker at the beginning of the school year.  PLEASE do not give this information to anyone else.  This is your private, secure area. 

·        If you lose your lock, you must pay for it ($4.00) before receiving another lock.  The same must be paid for any lock not returned at the end of the year.

·        NO GLASS CONTAINERS should be stored in your locker.

·        No body sprays or perfumes are allowed in the locker room.

·        Large amounts of money should not be brought to class.

·        Students found to be misbehaving in the locker room or vandalizing the locker room in any way, may lose their locker room privileges.

 

Excuses for Sickness

·        Must be written note from your parent/guardian.

·        Must be taken to your PE teacher before class, and the nurse will then issue a single day pass.

·        If excused 3 days in a row, we MUST have a Doctor’s excuse.

 

Jewelry

·        ALL JEWELRY MUST BE REMOVED FOR CLASS!!!

o       This includes piercings, as well as necklaces, rings, bracelets and watches.

 

 

WE ARE PROUD OF OUR SCHOOL! 

When you are in our gyms and locker rooms, we expect you to keep them neat.

 

NO GUM, FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE GYM AT ANY TIME!!
