Hi! I'm Mrs. Smith and I have been the 7th grade class advisor for the past five years.
Class officer elections are held each year at the end of September. Students who are interested in running for office must attend the informational meeting. At this meeting they will be given a petition that must be filled out by a set deadline. The candidates will then be given about a week to put up posters and campaign. All posters must be approved by their class advisor before they can be put up in the school. There are no election speeches.
Once elected, class officers must attend monthly meetings and are responsible for the organization of class fundraisers.
The offices and responsiblities include:
President - runs the class meeting, and has the final vote incase of a tie
Vice-President - conducts the president's duties if the president is unable to do so.
Secretary - takes notes at meetings, and is responsible for correspondence
Treasurer - makes a treasurer's report each meeting, must sign-off on deposits and withdrawals
Historian - Keeps track of class events
Student Council Representatives - represent the MS at student council meeting when necessary
