Signing on to School Island

To access School Island you must first obtain your School Island ID from your teacher.

The web address for the School Island Sign-in page is www.schoolisland.com.  Bookmark this website! Follow these simple instructions to sign into School Island:

  1. On the Sign-in page under the section entitled I have a School Island ID enter your ID at the prompt.
  2. Enter your password at the prompt. (If you have not yet set a password, skip this step.)
  3. Click the Sign-in button.
  4. If you have not already set a password, follow the steps to choose one now.

Your School Island Profile

Your School Island Profile is accessible from the Home page.  To view or modify your profile, click the Profile link.  We strongly recommend that you set your email address into your profile. That way, if you forget your School Island ID or password, School Island can email it to you.

School Island for Students
On the Student Home page, choose from any of the courses that are available, and then pick an activity. Question & Answer sessions have access to thousands of multiple choice questions.  Try the quick Flash Card activity to brush up on vocabulary, or browse through the more extensive Vocabulary Review for the course of your choice. Some School Island courses also include a guided Essay Review or a Constructed Response activity.

Navigating through School Island

An activity can be interrupted at any time. Click Back to return to the Activity page, or click Home to return to the Home page, where you can choose another course.  Remember to Logout (from the Home page) when you are finished visiting School Island. This is the cleanest way to exit the program.

For best results, do not use your browser's Back and Forward buttons. Navigate through School Island using the buttons and links on each page.

School Island Help
On-line Help buttons on every School Island page link you to appropriate topics that explain all the program features. To report an error, follow the instructions under the topic Troubleshooting.  (Click Help, then Contents then the link to Troubleshooting.)  To view or print out the School Island Student Guide, go to www.castlesoftware.com/home/documentation.htm. You will need Adobe(TM) Acrobat Reader to view the guide, which you can download and install from that page.
