The Pajama Game

Seven and a half cents! That’s the amount of raise the workers at the Sleep Tite Pajama Factory want. However, old man Hasler soundly says, “No”. The union representatives still put up a fight to win the increase. To complicate matters more, Sid (management) and Babe (union) fall in love. This unlikely romance seems to flourish until the union begins to resort to drastic measures.

Always in the middle of things is Hinesie – the time study man. Besides being loved by all, Hines is a master knife thrower (especially when he tips the bottle a bit). Gladys is the fun-loving secretary who is the object of Hinesie’s jealous affections.

Other colorful characters include Mable – the ultra-efficient office secretary, Max – the salesman, Prez – the union president, and Babe’s zany friends like Poopsie, Brenda, Virginia, and Mae.

Realizing that a solution to the conflict is impossible, Sid lures Gladys to the hottest nightclub in town – Hernando’s Hideaway – in hopes to obtain access to the company’s secrets. Although Sid is successful, neither Hines nor Hasler approve of his methods. What did Sid find out? Was the problem solved?
