Graphic Communications/Digital Photography
Prerequisite: None
Credits: 1/2 Unit GraphicComm + 1/2 Unit DigitalPhotog
Schedule Offering:  every day course
•Desktop publishing using Adobe InDesign and Adobe PhotoShop. Students will explore the field of graphic print design as they create their own pre-press advertising layouts using digital technology. They will also get the opportunity to take a project to offset press and screen print products of their own. Dependent upon school/community needs, students may get the opportunity to work with an actual client in designing projects for local school/community groups such as The American Red Cross.
•Introduction to Digital Still Image Photography; it's more than just buying and taking photos with a camera.  Going digital involves storing your digital images, making prints, being creative with them on the computer and properly outputting for other media applications. 

Communication Systems
Prerequisite: Graphics Communications/Digital Photog.
Credits: 1/2 Unit CommSys
Schedule Offering:  every other day course
•Students explore the field of broadcasting and video production as they work with the Mac iLife Suite software in creating multi-media projects like:  animations, podcasts, dvd's complete with chapter markers and music videos.
•Over the years, local community groups have used our students in producing/editing short videos for their needs. 

Computer Graphics
Prerequisite: Graphics Communications/Digital Photog.
Credits: 1/2 ComGraph
Schedule Offering:  every other day course
•Advanced PhotoShop and InDesign tools/techniques will be covered throughout the course as refine their skills learned in Graphic Communications.  A large emphasis will be on digital manipulations of photos for layout purposes. Students will also get to a create dye sublimation project(s) and use our vinyl cutter.
•Web development is also explored as students get the opportunity to work with DreamWeaver.

Media Production I, II, III, IV
Prerequisite: Graphics Communications/Photographic Technology and/or Instructor Approval
Credits: 1 Unit Fall Semester, 1/2 Unit Spring Semester
Schedule Offering:  every day during the fall, A/B course during the Spring
•Currently this state approved course is being taught as the Haverlinguist Yearbook. Due to the early deadlines and fast pass, students must meet the prerequisites of layout, design and photographic techniques. This course may be taken more than once but students will be assigned different tasks so that they have an enrichment experience.

Design and Drawing for Production (DDP)
Prerequisite:None
Credits: 1 Unit
Schedule Offering:  every day course
•Satisfies the NYS High School Art Requirement.
•An introductory course in mechanical drawing using AutoCad LT, topics covered will include: measurement, single and multi-view drawings, pictorial drawings and student creativity through product design.

ACE DDP (MECH 1050) through Corning Community College
Prerequisite:None
Credits: 1 Unit college credit upon successful completion
Schedule Offering:  every day course
•Satisfies the NYS High School Art Requirement.
•Includes freehand sketching, principles of applied geometry, multi-view drawings, dimensioning, sectioned views, pictorials, conventional drawing practices and standards and an introduction to Auto CAD.
•Students will move at a faster pace than in the basic DDP course and they will learn both AutoCAD and traditional board drawing methods.

Architectural Drawing
Prerequisite:DDP recommended
Credits: 1/2 Unit
Schedule Offering:  A/B course
•Students design and draw their dream home while learning the structural aspects behind home construction. 
•Attention will be given to community planning as well as architectural styles.  Great for those pursuing engineering or construction careers. 
•If time permits, models of the home design will be constructed.

Principles of Engineering
Prerequisite:None
Credits: 1/2 Unit
Schedule Offering:  A/B course
•A fun activity based approach combining drawing, math and science skills. 
•Through group work students learn the importance of being a team player as they solve design challenges in the most logical, practical and cost effective manner.

Web Design 
Prerequisite:None
Credits: 1/2 Unit -1 Unit
•Learn HTML and Dream Weaver to create web pages.  Design topics will be covered as well as an overview of the Internet and web publishing.
•Introduction to Flash based animation for the web.
