News from DLL Library
Welcome to the new school year!! We are starting an exciting new project in our library - Letterboxing. First off let me give you some more information on Letterboxing - it started in Dartmoor, England in 1854 with James Perrott and has grown to be a world wide hobby. The students of DLL will be experiencing this hobby within their library to help them learn about the Dewey decimal System; Information Literacy; 21st Century Learning; Local History; Geography; Literature; Art; Science - WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! This week the students learned about the history of Letterboxing and made their own "rubber" stamps, actually foam stamps. Each student was able to choose a pre-cut foam shape or design their own and glue it to a wooden block. Within the next couple of weeks the students will take their first letterboxing adventure – finding our letterboxing tools.
