Mr. Bryson's Biography
 

Mr. Bryson is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, at SUNY Potsdam. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a concentration in Voice. Mr. Bryson was awarded the Catherine E. English Award for Excellence in Student Teaching, an honor given to five Music Education graduates each year at the Crane School. In 2004 Mr. Bryson completed a Master of Science in Music Education at Ithaca College. Mr. Bryson has studied choral conducting with Dr. Daniel Gordon, Mr. Lawrence Doebler, and Mr. Rodney Eichenberger.

Prior to working at Haverling Mr. Bryson was employed for a year by Watertown School District, in Watertown, New York. His responsibilities included 4-6 grade general music and conductor of the 4th grade chorus and the 6th grade chorus.

Under Mr. Bryson’s direction, the Haverling Chamber Choir has attended the New York State School Music Association Major Organization Festival and awarded silver ratings. His high school singers are regularly accepted into Zone 15 Area All-State Honor Choirs and All-County Honor Choirs. In May 2006 Mr. Bryson was invited to be the guest clinician at the Addison Central School Choral Workshop.

Mr. Bryson is a member of the New York State School Music Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Steuben County Music Teachers' Association (SCMTA). He is currently the President of SCMTA for a two year term, a position he held previously from 2002-2004.

Mr. Bryson conducts the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and 6th Grade Chorus. He teaches Music Theory, Music History, Music in Our Lives, and Class Piano.
