Bath CSD Internet Hotspot Program
In this section you will find all of the information and resources related to Bath CSD's Internet Hotspot Program. Bath CSD was awarded a grant through the T-Mobile Project 10 Million. Based on the grant application Bath CSD was awarded a limited number of Franklin T9 Mobile Hotspots with 100GB/year of free data service for a period of 5 years to support the delivery of and access to education services provided by the school district during the school year.
What can a student do with 100GB of data? It’s enough data for any one of the following:
As result of this grant award, Bath CSD will be accepting applications for Internet hotspots from households within the district that do not currently have access to the Internet. Those qualifying for free or reduced meals will have first priority for the hotspots. The district will also take into consideration the number of students in a household as well as if there are medical conditions causing the student(s) to attend school virtually. Below you will find a link to the Bath CSD Internet Hotspot Application. Hard copies of the application are also available in the main office of each school as well as the district office.
The application deadline is Friday, March 12th. Successful applicants will be notified by Tuesday, March and hotspots will be made available for pick up Monday, March 1st and Tuesday, March 16th. Successful applicants must complete the BCSD Internet Hotspot Agreement Form prior to leaving campus with the device.
Please note that only Bath CSD Chromebooks will be able to connect to the hotspots. All hotspots will be monitored and filtered in accordance with the Child Internet Protection Act and the Bath CSD Acceptable Use Policy. Households must have adequate cellular service in order for the hotspot to work. To verify coverage at your address, please use the T-Mobile Coverage check tool.
The T-Mobile Project 10 Million program, in addition to providing school districts across the country mobile hotspots with free Internet access, also provides families with the options of increasing data limits based on need at significantly discounted rates. Families have the option of contracting directly with T-Mobile to increase the data limit to 100GB/month for $12 a month and unlimited data is priced at $15 per month.
