    Career Programming for Students

    Career Research Websites:

Students are encouraged to start their career exploration with online research.  The websites listed below are easy to navigate and provide a wealth of information.

    Career Speakers & Career Panels

Career Speakers and Career Panels are offered throughout the year.  Speakers will present about their career area then answer questions from students.  The information provided gives the student an opportunity to learn valuable information about the career, such as educational requirements, format of a typical day, skills required, work environment, job outlook, salary earned, etc.

Informational Interviews: (priority to Juniors & Seniors)

Informational interviews allow students to meet with professionals virtually or over the phone to discuss their careers and present them with any questions they have. These opportunities may be one-on-one or include a couple students or professionals. Students can learn about educational requirements, job responsibilities, the format of a typical day, salary range, work environment, etc.

Shadows: (priority to Juniors & Seniors)

Shadows enable students to meet with a business professional at their workplace to learn more about their career. The advantage is that students can observe the host in their work environment.  Shadows vary from one hour to an entire day depending on the host. Students must provide their own transportation to the experience.

We highly encourage students to take advantage of these special opportunities!

Students must meet with Mrs. Preston to discuss their career interests before an opportunity can be arranged. To request an informational interview or a shadow, students can sign up to meet with Mrs. Preston through the Guidance office.
