The New York State Blue Ribbon Commission

The New York State Education Department (SED) is in the process of updating and making significant changes surrounding educational policy and graduation requirements.

SED formed the New York State Blue Ribbon Commission (BRC) to review current graduation requirements and to provide suggestions for change. The committee presented their recommendations last November for future diploma/graduation. Since then, SED has created an implementation plan for these recommendations.

Whether you are an educator, parent or a member of the public, your input is highly valued, and SED has invited all to participate in a forum on the proposed changes of graduation requirements.
