The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes brought incredible music and unforgettable performances to Dana Lyon Middle School on May 1 for the 2nd Annual Orchestra Concert. Students and staff were treated to an outstanding program featuring Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Vivaldi’s “Summer” from The Four Seasons, and the beloved classic Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev.

Under the direction of Maestro Toshiyuki Shimada, the orchestra delivered a captivating performance filled with artistry and precision. Featured soloist Ashley Park, winner of the 2026 Hertzog Young Artist Competition, amazed the audience with her extraordinary violin performance. One fifth grade student summed it up perfectly by saying, “Ashley was jaw-dropping!”

A special highlight of the evening was the narration of Peter and the Wolf by Bath CSD alumna and Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes Board President, Mrs. Cari Stage.

Bath CSD extends sincere gratitude to the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes for sharing their exceptional talents with our students. We also thank the Edith Saxton Fund at the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes for generously supporting this live performance opportunity. Additional thanks go to DLL administrators Mrs. Jennifer D’Abbracci and Mrs. Courtney Fuller, along with the Bath CSD Music Department, for helping make this event such a tremendous success.
